Wordly hardships bring me to the TV...

So i have been getting home from work this past month or so and what do i do. I feel sorry for myself because of my struggling business, cash flow issues, and lack of motivation. I have not drank in over 3 years, I no longer self medicate. My addiction lately to numb myself has been the television. (and Diet soda) I have found myself hoping for kids bed time (waiting on my wife to get home from work at 9pm) I turn on the TV and let them run wild throughout the home. I then wonder why they don't get along so much and am constantly refereeing. Could it be I'm not paying enough attention to them? yes.

But still, I turn on the flat screen, put the remote in my hand and surf to numb my mind from reality. So sad. And i continue to do it knowing it is only making my mental state worse. I truly believe that TV is the devil, yet I bow down before him daily.

I know that stopping one addiction can easily start another. I know all this stuff and it only makes things worse knowing. I am writing this to myself hoping that it will bring me out of my haze. Not many even know about this site anyway.

Laziness is a sin the book says. I am sinning.

God - Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

So many people have real issues/problems in this world. I am lucky. I know God, have a beautiful family, friends, Job (which stands for Just. Over. Broke. by the way).

Put your chin up Chris, get on your knees more and seek Gods love. It is there but up to me to let it in.

The Television sucks. (Say that when football season gets here Mr. )

Could I give up football games?

What I take away from my life, predicts what I allow in.

I know this stuff.

Right it Down!

God is Great - I think one mistake we make is that we don't always right down a unique thought when it pops into our heads. Do you ever get an innovative idea or really cool thought and think, man where did that come from? And then - tell yourself you will go back to it later or you "won't forget" this one. Only to never think about or remember it again.

These are not our thoughts. They are visions and ideas from God. I believe our creator speaks to us often and we don't grab a hold of it. When and idea pops into my head, I now right it down immediately and then try and expand on it for 90 seconds. After that, leave it alone. I come back to it later because after 90 seconds the devil jumps in and attempts to give me reasons why it won't work. But - once it is written down, it is never lost.

Keep a small journal in your back pocket only for "Gods visions" that pop into your head.

Once the vision is written down - pray about it, talk to God, Thank him!

Sometimes - We (I) just need to stop, Be still, and Listen. Slowing down to hear his word will ultimately speed up the process to fulfilling his will for us.

Is Patience interrupting your Treasure?

Are you patiently waiting for your life to change? - Going through the motions day and night - doing the same thing daily and expecting one day that things will change? Your freedom, your job, your income, your passion, your life, your love...

I was at Sheetz yesterday and ordered myself a wildberry and banana smoothie. As i was waiting, i just watched about 30 people come in and out. They ALL looked tired, over life, and depressed. They were just going through the motions letting there jobs and situations dictate their lives. I heard many complaining. Whining.. And why is it that if you complain about your job and life to people, they generally agree with you and complain back?

Insanity, as we know, is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Is patience interrupting your treasure?

Are you patiently waiting for things to change without taking evasive action?

It's time to stop complaining, get up an hour earlier, and move away from our comfort zones!
Do something different! OUR voices need to be heard but they won't be until we stop letting our patience interrupt our treasure.

U ever want to just hide from life for a couple days??

I think we all do every now and again. It happened to me this past week.
I have realized that when I do want to hide, I am not feeling the spirit ~

It is actually easier to continue to hide, watch television, eat, complain, sleep, not pray,and procrastinate than anything else when these funks find me. This is when I know my thinking needs to be changed completely. My thoughts need to actually be taken from me.

This is when it is the hardest time for me to pray.... when i don't feel like it

This is also the time when prayer is needed more than ever.... when i don't feel like it

But ~ If I just dig down deep. Make a snap decision to drop to my knees and start thanking my creator for all I have - I mean all that I have... Then...the anxiety and negative thoughts slowly start to leave me.

So ~Thank you God for my healthy family, for my 3 beautiful children, for my home, my eye sight, Thank you God for my friends, my truck, my clothes, and the air you let me breathe. God, guide me into the world and put the right people in front of me. Give me the wisdom and courage to share your word and my story. A-men.

What WE decide not to control will eventually control US.

What is this all about? Let us think about it.

I chose to not control my kids toys, the trash, the spider webs growing inside of my garage for weeks. Well today, I could not get to my push mower with out stepping on dump trucks and wiping cob webs off my face. Only to find out after spending 15 minutes making a path to get the mower out that I was out of gas. My garage forced me to clean it out today. It controlled most of my Sunday. This would not have taken most of a day if I controlled my garage daily.
Our kids - If we don't control them, they will eventually control us and we will end up with Dr. Phil in our living room. Sounds weird but I believe it is true.
Our finances - If we don't control them, they will eventually control us. Make us sell stuff, live without, or goodness forbid file bankruptcy.
Our Faith - If we don't nurture it and coddle it daily, we will lose it. The World will then Control us. Satan loves this one.
Almost anything you can think of fits this statement.

So if we feel like something is controlling us. Let us step back, take a deep breath and think why? Could the answer possibly be that - We are not controlling it? Looking in the mirror can be so humbling, so real, and so wise.

We are not here to walk alone..

Within the past few years, i have finally broken the code - Better late than never.

I am not here on school house earth to walk alone. I need other people. For years I have been convinced that I can do it by myself - I can fix me. No - leave me alone, i can do it.

July 2nd 2007 i gave up. First i asked God to take me and do whatever he wanted. Then - i reached out to my brother and said help. I cannot type in words, the feeling, the weight that was lifted from me.

We were not created to live our lives being alone. To work, think, or exist alone is nothing more than selfish. It leads only to depression and physical deterioration. The master up high designed our minds to communicate, and solve this game of life with other master minds.

Life for me has become absolutely incredible. Only after i submitted fully. I need friends. I need family. I need God.

Let us not be afraid to ask for the directions.

Kevin, Kelly, Logan, Bone - I thank you for always believing in me and giving me back to myself.

In order to GET more, we have to GIVE more..

I am now speaking size and increase into other people. Bottom line is when you get over yourself, you can truly love other people. My buddy Joe says, " In order to get more get value, you have to give more give value".

Have you ever heard something for the first time and just know it is true? You know it in your gut. That is an instinct that God put directly into our DNA himself. Awesome.

Meet people, and overwhelm them. It will grow your confidence and they will love you.

What you Give away, you get to keep! How cool is that? Think it deep. Think it deep.

Change your life, smile more, talk to people.

What a concept - You don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going. This is so true for me. I have spent months thinking about putting together a blog amongst other things.

" You have to get it perfect Chris."

"You have to know exactly how to do it first Chris." - uhh NO I DON'T..

God has given us the Privilege to mess up. Read that again.

If we continue to prepare and "get ready" , we will never do. Perfectionist are broke.
I believe we should think before we act, but don't think too hard or we will never act.
